Recent Citizen De Vivre Boutique Review: "When I booked the Citizen I chose it because it's a Joie de Vivre hotel and they are big supporters of AIDS Lifecycle - which I have particpated in for nearly 10 years. I didn't realize it was the very hotel my husband and I had popped into the last time we were in Sac and commented about how nice it was and wouldn't we like to stay there. The hotel  has a lovely restaurant - Grange - that uses local season foods and organically raised meats - which means I can actually eat meat there if I wanted too. When we checked in I told the valet that we would be leaving in less than two hours to head to a concert (our reason for being in Sac). We went to eat at Grange - had appetisers because they don't serve dinner until 5:30 and we wouldn't have enough time to leave for our concert. But they had plenty to choose from for appetizers and that made our meal. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our waiter was engaging and responsive. When we went to get our car, I forgot to call down first, however our car was right there, waiting for us...because the valet paid attention - Thank YOU! The rooms are perfectly appointed, clean, comfortable, and cozy. OK, a bit small, but the way they put the furniture it didn't feel crunched and we had plenty of room for two. Our room looked over the capital park - beautiful even on a rainy day. We had a really lovely experience and when I must stay in Sac, I see no reason to stay anywhere else. Thank you, Citizen Hotel, for exceeding our expectations."
